Vinyasa Flow We aim to make yoga accessible to everyone and our classes are suitable for all levels. These classes will give you a chance to feel the benefits of yoga and encouragement to listen to your body and make the practice your own. Things to bring: Yoga mat (or an exercise mat) Water bottle and any props you might find useful, eg straps, yoga block arrive in clothes that you feel comfortable moving in and even sweating a little. This pre birth group at the Carnegie Library Hub will support mother at all stages of their pregnancy and is all about respecting the body’s intelligence and its interconnection with mind and spirit. There will be time to cultivate the self-trust that enables a smooth transition through pregnancy, birth and parenthood and build community along the way. Pregnant and birth experiences can be complex and diverse. All are very welcome regardless of how far along in the pregnancy and whether you expecting a first baby or already have children. Maude & Hazel’s Sewing and Craft Workshops
Maude and Hazel have started their Craft Workshops again. There are six free sewing machines to use, including one overlocker, so save the planet and learn to upcycle your clothes. We also have talented knitters and crocheters on hand to help you learn or extend your skills. The workshops are held every Tuesday in term time at the Carnegie Library Hub, 188 Herne Hill Road, SE24 0AG from 10am to 1pm. If arriving between 10am and when the library opens at 11am, the entrance is at the side of the building in Ferndene Road. Free refreshments.The sessions are free but there is a suggested donation of £5.

Yoga restores and maintains normal mobility and a healthy range of movement in order to function well in daily life. Iyengar yoga allows students with different areas of stiffness or old injury to use props to help develop correct movements and improve alignment. Anne Lynn has been practising Iyengar yoga since 1978. She trained to teach after having her children, and qualified in 2003 to teach the Introductory syllabus. Since then she studied Anatomy and Physiology and taken more yoga qualifications to Level 2. I will share tools and techniques that can help to manage the symptoms that can arise such as anxiety, insomnia, rage, hot flushes and fatigue. The classes will include a mindful posture practice, pranayama/breathing techniques, meditation, mudra, mantra, relaxation and yoga nidra. These sessions are suitable for absolute beginners, and do not require the body of a gymnast. If you would like to gain greater knowledge and understanding and to feel empowered and equipped with practical tools that you can practice ‘off the mat’ then this class is perfect for you. Please bring a mat, some water and warm comfortable layers of clothing that enable you to move with ease. If you would like to join me but cannot manage to pay the full fee, please get in touch. Everyone is welcome – there are no auditions and all music is taught by ear. They work towards informal community performances at the end of each term, as well as participating in bigger London productions such as Sing for Water each year. Maude & Hazel’s Sewing and Craft Workshops
Maude and Hazel have started their Craft Workshops again. There are six free sewing machines to use, including one overlocker, so save the planet and learn to upcycle your clothes. We also have talented knitters and crocheters on hand to help you learn or extend your skills. The workshops are held every Tuesday in term time at the Carnegie Library Hub, 188 Herne Hill Road, SE24 0AG from 10am to 1pm. If arriving between 10am and when the library opens at 11am, the entrance is at the side of the building in Ferndene Road. Free refreshments.The sessions are free but there is a suggested donation of £5.

A 30 min music class for early years and pre-schoolers Lucy Sparkles & Friends music classes develop musical, physical, emotional and intellectual skills through engaging and fun sessions. Each class includes live guitar, ukulele or keyboard, a capella singing games, action songs, rhymes, parachute play, listening and moving to music and playing along on percussion instruments. While every lesson is different, we apply the same fun, thoughtful and tested structure to each weekly session in order to establish a comfortable and friendly environment for children. All of our music teachers are professional musicians who play real instruments. Instructions Our room is held in the Carnegie Library Hub next to the library. Yoga improves posture and breathing, thereby improving the health of all systems of the body. Yoga restores and maintains normal mobility and a healthy range of movement in order to function well in daily life. Iyengar yoga allows students with different areas of stiffness or old injury to use props to help develop correct movements and improve alignment. Anne Lynn has been practising Iyengar yoga since 1978. She trained to teach after having her children, and qualified in 2003 to teach the Introductory syllabus. Since then she studied Anatomy and Physiology and taken more yoga qualifications to Level 2. I will share tools and techniques that can help to manage the symptoms that can arise such as anxiety, insomnia, rage, hot flushes and fatigue. The classes will include a mindful posture practice, pranayama/breathing techniques, meditation, mudra, mantra, relaxation and yoga nidra. These sessions are suitable for absolute beginners, and do not require the body of a gymnast. If you would like to gain greater knowledge and understanding and to feel empowered and equipped with practical tools that you can practice ‘off the mat’ then this class is perfect for you. Please bring a mat, some water and warm comfortable layers of clothing that enable you to move with ease. If you would like to join me but cannot manage to pay the full fee, please get in touch. Everyone is welcome – there are no auditions and all music is taught by ear. They work towards informal community performances at the end of each term, as well as participating in bigger London productions such as Sing for Water each year. Holistic Birth Preparation Jess McArdle is taking over from Tamsyn and will continue to nurture this supportive space for women and couples as they navigate their pregnancy and birth through movement, breathing and relaxation. This pre birth group at the Carnegie Library Hub will support mother at all stages of their pregnancy and is all about respecting the body’s intelligence and its interconnection with mind and spirit. There will be time to cultivate the self-trust that enables a smooth transition through pregnancy, birth and parenthood and build community along the way. Pregnant and birth experiences can be complex and diverse. All are very welcome regardless of how far along in the pregnancy and whether you expecting a first baby or already have children.
