The Road to Freedom: Ending the Slavery in Britain

We’re delighted to be hosting Learning Through the Arts who are putting on an exhibition centred around the abolition of slavery in Britain.  We’re hosting it in our community lounge, and it is free to access during Library hours, access through the library.

The exhibition has been inspired by the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act, which brought an end to slavery in Britain and its colonies. The exhibition explores the triangular slave trade, resistance, the abolition of slavery and its relevance to modern-day slavery.

Do come along.  It’s open from 22nd May until the 22nd June in the lounge.  And with thanks to the library staff who are opening the room during library hours.
