Name for the Community Cafe at the Carnegie Library Hub

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re nearing the launch of our community cafe! Meeting the challenges of establishing this project within our historic Carnegie Library has been a significant undertaking, but we’re now ready to move forward. This cafe will be a vital asset, enhancing the Hub, library, gym, and wider community by fostering a vibrant and sustainable space.

Following a thorough selection process, we’ve partnered with Sweet Carolina of West Norwood. Their vision, community support, financial plan, and experience made them the ideal choice.

To finalize our preparations and begin the cafe’s fit-out, we need to choose a name that reflects its desired personality.

Sweet Carolina has provided the following thoughts.

“We are not opening a new branch of Sweet Carolina—we are creating something new, a distinct space with its own identity. Its name should give us the freedom to develop an original concept without the expectation that it will mirror Sweet Carolina in West Norwood.

We wouldn’t want visitors to Carnegie Library to assume they are stepping into the same experience, nor would we want to create confusion by having two different cafes under the same name.

We will bring to this project all the warmth, hospitality, and charm that make Sweet Carolina such a welcoming place—while giving it a fresh and unique identity. For that reason, we wish to reference Sweet Carolina as the team in charge but seek a leading name that develops the right personality for the space and community.“

We are weighing up a few options and would welcome your feedback on our poll.
