The Carnegie Library Chess club is a much-loved staple and we’re delighted to temporarily home those who want to turn up for a match at the usual time of 2pm on Saturdays in Hub room 2 while the library is closed.
At the moment the main library is completely empty while the beautiful old parquet floors are sanded, filled and varnished and in the meantime, we are working hard to ensure that all regular groups and classes can continue as usual.
Apologies for the inconvenience, it will be worth it and is in line with our mission to preserve our historic local library as a welcoming place for community activity.
