Carnegie Cafe and Loughborough Junction Lounge are Open!

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of the Carnegie Cafe – a warm and welcoming space that’s been developed with the input of our community – and the adjacent Loughborough Junction Lounge, our community lounge.

We’re grateful to our partners: Sweet Carolina, who operates the cafe and has designed and project-managed a seamless fit-out that extends the grand and welcoming nature of the magnificent building, and Lambeth Council who engaged with us extensively to adapt utilities and creative lighting into the room.

This unique venture sits at the heart of our community.  We invite everyone to continue supporting us by visiting this warm and inspirational space offering hot drinks and homemade cakes, with an extended menu to come.  We’re also keen to hear suggestions about the evolving use of the cafe and lounge area in relation to the Hub, including any ideas for partnerships.

Adjoining the cafe is the Loughborough Junction Lounge – a free-to-use community area, open when the library closes at lunchtime.  We’re working to develop the local relationships that ensure we make the best use of this unique lounge space.

The cafe is currently open during library hours although will be extending opening hours and the menu shortly.

We look forward to welcoming you.
