We ended 2025 with two Christmas Markets and had the opportunity to partner with our new community cafe, The Carnegie Cafe by Sweet Carolina, and support many local traders. It was a great success with over 400 people attending the markets that were held over two consecutive weekends before the holidays last December. It was lovely to see the Hub, library, and cafe bustling with energy, community members, Father Christmas, and piano tunes! Thank you very much for your support and patronage. We’re thrilled to announce new, colourful navigation for our five wonderful, classic meeting rooms! Each room name reflects the unique spirit of our local communities. Your guests will love the new clear, colour-coded identities and the new totem signage all around the building which makes getting around super-easy. We were excited to create a visual identity for the hub that lends itself to our heritage building, and ties together our communities, our various stakeholders, and the activities that we host. Many thanks to the Creative Impact Club for their support of this project! The Creative Impact Club is a Peckham based not-for-profit volunteer platform for creative professionals to volunteer their skills to support local Social Impact Entrepreneurs, Charities and Community Initiatives. We were paired with a designer who helped us bring this vision to life. We chose to name the rooms after the communities we serve in Herne Hill, Loughborough Junction, Dulwich, Camberwell, and Brixton, and even have new signs for all the tenants in the building, The Library, Active Lambeth, and our new Carnegie Cafe by Sweet Carolina. The Carnegie Library Hub and Carnegie Cafe are excited to host two Winter Christmas markets this December! Join us on December 6th from 1-7pm, and December 14th from 10am-4pm in our glorious light filled Herne Hill Room just adjacent to our new Carnegie Cafe by Sweet Carolina. This event is sure to be a community-focused afternoon for the whole family, where you can discover a wide array of handmade goods from local makers and one-of-a-kind designs, crafts, and unique items for all ages just in time for the holiday season. Make an afternoon of it and enjoy sipping hot seasonal drinks, and eating sweet treats available from our cafe while supporting our traders. We are currently seeking a few more stall holders for the markets and seeking ceramics, candles, children’s items, and skincare. Learn more about how to secure your spot here.
